Handicap Mayor

Community College District Chooses the “Hotness”, AKA Christine Marez, for their new $701,680 inspector general post. 10.18.10 “The Hotness” is how Marez, photos at right, describes herself, with photos of her clinging to a shinny stripper pole at the Playboy Mansion and in numerous sexy shots from Vegas. Having gone to her “myspace” page and looked at her, well, “revealing” shots I would have to agree that she is not guilty of false advertising. Just a warning to all, what happens in Vegas does not stay in Vegas if it’s put on a myspace page. Marez lists her interests as “men” on the page - we are sure the interest is returned. She has a Facebook page too - that ones a little tamer - but she asks everyone to wish her luck - as she tries to land the big LACCD fish. Seem like she didn’t really need luck - not when you’re ‘The Hotness”!! I am not sure if this is how I envisioned the LACCD’s new Inspector General - who is charged with keeping the wayward District on the up and up. Considering that one of the things the District’s own Bond attorneys mentioned they had been abusing bonds to was travel and stage lavish parties. Vegas anyone? It appears Marez knows her way around there. Are the Board of Trustees trying to spice up the District’s image? Will we see future shots of District hotshots playing the Vegas tables with “The Hotness”- or have they already been doing that - with the bond funds. Maybe Marez’s Vegas proclivities and sexy poker playing is what attracted them to her - kindred gambling spirits. After all the Board and execs at LACCD have been gambling that they will get away with millions in bond abuse at the Van de Kamps Campus...and maybe all over the District from the word on the street ... and for about a day on their own web site. Their patron - LA Playboy Mayor Anotonio Villaraigosa, would feel right at home with the party hearty “The Hotness”. He may have even met her at the Playboy Mansion where we know he hangs and likes the surroundings ...and scenery. Who knows, maybe he is in the background of that Playboy stripper pole shot on her myspace page - just out of view of the camera. Admittedly out of view of a camera would be unusual for publicity hungry Tony ...but there are a lot of distractions at the Playboy Pad. Should we be looking for future shots of not so hotness Board President Georgia Mercer and Trustees Mona Field and Sylvia Scott - Hayes swinging on the pole at the Playboy Mansion and playing the tables in Vegas? The Community College Board was forced to admit in the LA Times that they are abusing bonds...but it’s okay - they said they would hire an Inspector General to investigate... themselves. New Chancellor LaVista even asked for extra time at a LACCD committee meeting to further do careful background checks on IG candidates. Guess he found “The Hotness” rang his bell. Ever skeptical - we waited to see if they would hire someone credible and now we have “The Hotness”! Does get any better than this? After all, the firm “The Hotness” runs (and from the web site appears to be the only employee of) - will be directed by, and have pay check signed by the Board, Dr LaVista and LACCD execs. Hotness’s firm will be hardly an independent watchdog for the hen house, more like an agent of the fox. Now that we see we have Playboy Mansion, Vegas “The Hotness” herself - well we are all so reassured that everything is in good hands...we hardly know how to express our relief and confidence - so we won’t. Van de Kamps Campus Update - Crime Scene Gala Van de Kamps Stolen Campus had it’s grand opening on Oct. 13th. - the place should have been wrapped in crime scene tape. The District was on hand to crow about abusing millions in bond funds to set the Mayor’s pet projects up in the campus that was slated to be a Satellite Campus of Los Angeles City College. The problem is, they did it with bond funds legally committed to build a community college facility, not what they themselves have called “a tenant based commercial project” in their own documents. Spending millions in bond funds to rip out classrooms and custom build and furnish - with new furniture computers, copiers and other pricy equipment - fancy offices for the Mayor’s non community college favorites just happens to be illegal. They are counting on their political juice to keep investigations and enforcement away. So far it has succeeded, with numerous public officials crying low budgets and ignoring mounting evidence to turn a blind eye to this crime. What has happened is two lawsuits with a third on the way. It’s only a matter of time before this catches up the with arrogant Board and their craven minions. Isn’t this how Bell got so bad? At least the Van de Kamps Coalition has not kept quiet and has sued to stop these abuses of tax dollars and flagrant flaunting of the law. The Mayor was there to accept what amounted to a giant gift of public funds - at our expense. He looked happy - first snazzy digs for his pet projects and now “The Hotness” - why wouldn’t he be happy? We all know what makes our Playboy Mayor happy, don’t we? Putting a slight damper on the festivities was a word that kept being whispered - “lawsuits”. Questions about the status of the lawsuits, would they force the Mayor to pack up his collection of favorite projects and move them out? Would they stop the District’s illegal purchase of the Portola property next door - where Denny’s and Pollo Loco sit now? How many more lawsuits were there going to be? Lawsuits were in the air, along with a great deal of self congratulating on the District’s part. I was there with my fellow Van de Kamps Coalition members, recording the ceremonies and passing out a terrific article written by Mars Melnicoff (see original email below) for the City College Collegian newspaper on Potty Mouth (as he is known at City College) City College Professor Ken Sherwood’s email "tête à tête" - with a lot of “French” in it, if you know what I mean, with City College President Jamillah Moore, in which he writes that Moore should tell VDK Coalition founder Netty Carr to “F*** Off” - only he spelled it out. Moore says “sure” and they end with “LOL”. Great examples for the young adults they are supposed to teach and guide. Parents - you don’t need to wonder why your offspring use so much foul language - look no farther than their professors.
